By leveraging connected vehicle data as well as providing a mobile app for drivers, the company was able to launch a new, fully connected lightweight commercial vehicle (LCV) that ensures higher utilization and enhances both operational efficiency and convenience for drivers. Challenge As the commercial vehicle sector gradually shifts to electric vehicles, commercial vehicle manufacturers face unique industry challenges. Equally important, both for ICEs and EVs, is uptime and the need to maximize vehicle utilization. Commercial vehicle operations cannot afford having trucks and vans out for service unexpectedly or for too long. To ensure peak efficiency, proactive maintenance is critical. A commercial vehicle manufacturer decided to launch its first connected van as both an ICE vehicle and EV. In order to meet its goals of optimization and connected convenience, it needed an experienced partner to securely integrate and pipe the vehicle data.
